Gold Coast couple test positive, possible Omicron case detected in quarantine

Health officials have confirmed a Gold Coast couple have tested positive to COVID-19.

The husband and wife duo have been in the community while infectious for 13 days.

The wife, who is fully vaccinated, works at an aged care facility in Mudgeeraba, where residents are now undergoing urgent testing.

“We can report all of the staff are fully vaccinated and over 90 per cent of the residents are fully vaccinated,” Health minister Yvette D’Ath said.
